My Work
APA Style Central
Lead User Interface Designer, 2013 - 2015
American Psychological Association
APA Style Central is a complex web application for libraries and universities that helps students and researchers learn APA Style while writing, editing, researching, adding references and citations, and more. I collaborated closely with internal staff at APA, analyzing the project's lengthy requirements documents and introducing solutions to enhance usability for end users.
- User interface and interaction design for all stages of the application with hundreds of screens and interactions, including multi-user collaboration; saved and shared documents; multi-step learning exercises; table creation; multiple types of references; error messaging; and alerts.
- Providing final design files, specifications, and CSS to developers; and tweaking CSS as needed.
Sahar Sheikhani, Business Analyst for APA and core team member for APA Style Central says,
“Lynne has a unique gift and polished design skills. After analyzing our requirements, she came up with original ideas, and created beautiful designs with much attention to usability. Plus, she works so well in a demanding environment where she needs to process so many ideas while going through the iterative design process.”
